Carbon Forest Management
Climate change is happening and planting more trees will help.
Carbon forest management is part of an international trend in response to the effects of climate change. As a result of the New Zealand government signing the Kyoto Protocol, forest owners with trees planted or regenerated after 1989 can join the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and earn carbon credits which can then be sold.
Carbon is another string in the bow of integrated forest management, adding another value to forests and allowing previously uneconomic areas to become viable. Tomorrow’s Forests Ltd has helped numerous clients enter their trees in the ETS. These forests range in size from 10 ha to over 5,000 ha and include a range of species.
Tomorrows Forests offers clients cost effective preparation of ETS applications and carbon returns.
